Children's ministry
We take great interest in teaching children the Bible. It's important for them to have a good foundation for life, beginning with our Sunday school program which meets at 9:45 AM. We have classes for every age group. Our teachers have a desire to make God “real” to their students.
Our Calvary Kids Club is our children’s ministry which is held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 through the school year. All children, ages K-4 through sixth grade, are welcome. This is a fun time of age-appropriate Bible lessons, games, and crafts which are geared for spiritual growth. Calvary Kids uses the Expeditions curriculum which places a strong emphasis on missions, Scripture memory, and developing Christian character. Each year, the children go on a expedition to a different place around the world. While there, the children learn about a great missionary of the past and how God used them. The children's books and the lessons taught each night focus on helping the children to understand more about what missions is, how they can support missionaries around the world right now, and how they can become a great soldier in the army of the Lord. Each meeting features a "Word of the Night," an object lesson, a game time, and a book time.
One of the highlights of our church calendar is our vacation Bible school. For one week in July, using the Answers in Genesis curriculum, we have a fantastic week of teaching children about God. Bible lessons, craft time, games, and snacks make for an eventful evening! We offer nursery care during our Sunday services for young children. We also offer a children's church during our morning service for children up through the third grade.
