Ministries
Matthew 20:28 tells us that “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” One of the reasons our Lord Jesus came to earth was to serve others. It’s our privilege to serve Him and to serve others. Calvary Baptist Church of Kaukauna has a number of ministries geared for youth and adults.
We have a burden to teach the Bible to everyone, youth as well as adults. Our Sunday school is one way of doing this. Our classes are taught by people who love the Lord and their students, and they have a desire to make God “real” to their students.
We offer nursery care during our Sunday services for young children. We also offer a children’s church during our morning service for children up through the third grade. Those who serve in our youth ministries are members of our church and have been screened for security purposes.
One of the highlights of our church calendar is our vacation Bible school. For one week in July, using the Answers in Genesis curriculum, we have a fantastic week of teaching children about God. Bible lessons, craft time, games, and snacks make for an eventful evening!
According to Acts 2:42, the early church “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” The ministry of the New Testament church includes Bible study, fellowship, and praying together. Because we understand the importance of people connecting with people, we hold small group meetings, which we call LifeGroups. Our LifeGroups meet in the homes of our church members and consist of Bible study, praying together, and informal fellowship.
Our men enjoy a monthly Men’s Prayer Breakfast with a delicious fresh-cooked breakfast, Bible message, prayer, and fellowship.
Women in our church gather for fellowship throughout the year with activities such as craft nights, a ladies' luncheon, and attending a women's retreat.
